This time next week the TEA Parties will be over, but the momentum shouldn’t be. All of us need to take the message and the excitement of the TEA Parties and put it into practical application.

The Lakeland Tax Day TEA Party site will remain up and active. Of course I’ll still be blogging at bRight & Early. But there is much more that can be done. American Majority has launched a new site — After The Tea Party — where you can discover ways to stay involved.

As we get closer to the TEA Party, let’s talk about some practical matters. Parking. Plan on getting there a little bit early, and don’t be afraid to walk a little. A map of parking in the area is here.

I just want to make sure that there is some new information here for all of you to read. Please, do keep checking back as the web site will be updated frequently.

The interest in the Lakeland Tax Day TEA Party is growing every day, if not hour by hour. This website, and the several articles I’ve posted on my blog that point here, are being found by people searching for “Lakeland Tea Party” and other similar phrases.

One of the big reasons for creating this site is so people have somewhere to find when they do such a search.

There are a few things you can do. If you want to write something for the blog you can register (using the link in the far right sidebar) and then send an email to teaparty {at} floridimagine {dot} com or lakelandjim {at} gmail {dot} com and let me know that you want to write. You can also send the information you would like added here to the email addresses listed above. Of course promotion is also needed. If you have a blog or website, linking to this site will be a big help.

Two other things that you may not of thought about, visit here yourself and leave a comment or two. Let’s get the conversation started.

The Tea Party effort is a grassroots, collaborative, volunteer, bipartisan organization made up of every day Patriotic American Citizens from across the country. We take pride and have a burning desire to restore our freedom. “We the people” are being ignored by our government and we intend on working together to correct the problem.

We must stand together, shoulder to shoulder, against our out of control government! It is time for us to protect God, our Country, and the Constitution upon which this great land was founded!

Are you fed up with a Congress and a President who:

• says No earmarks, and the new budget has more than 8,000 earmarks.
• vote for over $800 billion dollar tax bill without even reading it.
• want to take your wealth and redistribute it to others?
• want to reduce your tax deduction for charitable gifts?
• punish those who practice responsible financial behavior and reward those who do not?
• won’t treat our Veterans with the same medical benefits Congress enjoys?
• want to take away the right to vote with a secret ballot in union elections?
• refuse to stop the flow of millions of “illegal” immigrants into our country?
• run up trillions of dollars of debt and then sell that debt to countries such as China?
• spending trillions of borrowed dollars, leaving a debt our great-grandchildren will still be paying?
• spending billions in bailouts on companies to big to fail?
• give special interest groups billions of dollars in earmarks to help get them selves re-elected?
• admit to using the financial hurt of millions as an opportunity to push their political agenda?
• say “No lobbyist” will work for him. He not only hired lobbyists, he appointed Cabinet members who cheated on their taxes.

If you are fed up, participate in the TEA PARTY rally.

We are looking forward to the TEA Party on April 15th and hope that you are making plans to be there. Of course an event like this will take planning and volunteers. There will be a meeting for people interested in helping with the event on Saturday, April 4th at 10am. The meeting will take place at the event site, Kryger Overlook Park in downtown Lakeland. The park is located at 108 S. Massachusetts Ave.
